International Travel Company Human Resource Officer Job in Kenya

Our Client is a market leader in the travel industry across the world. The Group employs over 12,000 people and operates in almost 100 countries across the world.

Our client seeks to recruit a competent and dedicated Human Resource Officer
 
Reporting the Human Resource and Administration Manager, the Human Resource Officer is responsible for providing day to day HR Administration support in the various human resource functions, which include recruitment, training and development, compensation and benefits, performance management and employee relations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Working closely with various departments, increasingly in a consultancy role, assisting line managers to understand and implement HR policies and procedures.
  • Co-ordinate implementation of the performance management system
  • Co-ordinate recruitment - this includes developing job descriptions and person specifications, preparing job adverts, checking application forms, shortlisting, interviewing and selecting candidates.
  • Advising on pay and other remuneration issues, including promotion and benefits.
  • Facilitate discussions with staff and their representatives (for example, trade union officials) on issues relating to work conditions.
  • Administering and maintaining employee records.
  • Facilitate management of grievances and implementing disciplinary procedures.
  • Developing with line managers HR planning strategies which consider immediate and long-term staff requirements.
  • Planning, and on an need basis delivering, training - including induction for new staff.
  • Analysing training needs in conjunction with departmental managers.
Qualifications / Experience Requirements
  • Degree in Human Resources Management or any Social Science discipline.
  • Professional qualification in Human Resources Management
  • Understanding and practical knowledge of labour laws and related regulatory requirements.
  • At least three years’ experience of working in a generalist HR environment, to include administration of recruitment, training, compensation and benefits and employee relations.
  • Experience of supporting managers across a variety of departments at different levels in all aspects of HR.
