Production Supervisor for Feeds Manufacturer

Reporting to the production Manager, the Production Supervisor will be responsible of achieving agreed feeds nutritionist and production KPIs in terms of quality, safety, quantity, cost, timeliness and people morale by supervising and coordinating Production activities.

Job Card

• Provide guidance in animal feeds nutritionist, formulation and feed ingredients purchases.
• Correlate the formulas to the cost of the raw materials and feeds pricing.
• Ensure and maintain production of high quality feeds with good acceptable texture and consistency of its color
• Ensure steady flow of production activities to produce the right product in the right quality at the right time (Quality Right First Time)
• Supervision of the production process ensuring the production team follows the laid standard work procedure.
• Maintain high level production and machine operational efficiencies.
• Ensure proper use of quality raw material at batching/shooting point
• Ensure no wastage of materiel in the production line process
• Ensure productions of feeds as per set targets
• Minimize downtime in the production process
• Maintain cleanliness and tidiness at the work place by ensuring that all spillages and leakages are promptly swept and reused back to their respective batch
• Ensure all used bags of raw materials are sorted out, counted and dispatched to bag store
• Record and report all machinery breakdowns promptly
• Ensure safety and welfare of workers in your charge
• Maintaining and enforcing discipline in your shift
• To provide daily production sheet for your shift.
• To fill daily transfer form for products done on your shift

The preferred person must have a minimum of:-

• A Degree/ diploma in animal production from a recognized institution
• BS in Animal Science is an added advantage
• 1-2 years’ work experience in feed formulation.
• Strong team player
• Highly detailed
• Solid leadership
• Good people and communication skills
• A proven track record in feed industry.

Salary Scale is Ksh 20,000 to 35,000
