Our client in Athi River transportation company is looking for Vehicle Tracking System Operator.

Position Summary: Under the direction of the Transportation Management Analyst, the Vehicle Tracking Operator will be responsible for maintaining the system’s database tracking system used by the Department of Transportation to monitor vehicles, drivers and attendants.
 

Vehicle Tracking Systems Operator Duties & Responsibilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

• Operates Geographical Positioning system, which entails monitoring and maintaining the system’s database of vehicles and drivers.
• Enters and maintains landmark information in database for location and identification of all vehicles
• Provides on-demand detailed reports of vehicle locations and times from the GPS database;
• Gathers data to develop improvement plan for vehicles  routing system;
• Acts as liaison to emergency entities such as the local police department and health care units during crisis events such as accidents by vehicles;
• Maintain roster of vehicles and assist Radio Dispatches as needed; and Performs related work as required.

Qualifications for Vehicle Tracking Systems Operator
 

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

• Knowledge of the  Counties  road system;
• Some knowledge of the operation and scheduling of vehicles desired;
• Knowledge of computerized data management systems such as Microsoft Access desired;
• Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office Products;
• Ability to operate a computer with speed and accuracy;
• Ability to work effectively with constant interruptions and meet scheduled time lines;
• Ability to work effectively with constant interruptions and meet scheduled time lines;
• Ability to treat information, data and records confidentially;
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing;
• Good interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy;
• Ability to type at the required rate of speed;
• Excellent telephone and on-the-air presence required; and
• Willingness to work flexible schedule.  

Vehicle Tracking Systems Operator Education / Experience Requirements:

• High school graduate
• one to three years’ experience and or training in the maintenance of computer data information or fleet management field; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

Salary: Net of 40,000ksh
