Our client is a leading independent data, voice and IP provider in eastern, central and southern Africa. 

They supply fibre optic, satellite and international carrier services to Africa’s largest mobile network operators, ISPs and businesses of all sizes. 

They also provide payment solutions to financial institutions and retailers, as well as award winning data storage and communication solutions to businesses across Africa and beyond.

In line with business demands driven by rapid growth, we are looking for qualified, highly competent, talented and results driven individual to fill the following key business growth and revenue generation position.
 
The Account Manager will be reporting to the Sales Manager - Retail Business
 
Job Purpose: The purpose of this position is to plan, manage and forecasting, and drive the SOHO/SME market customers. This involves auditing, and documenting the existing customer database in a bid to confirm the actual list of these customers.


While involved in managing and growing the customer portfolio, you will be required to heavily interact with product development team in packaging the best bouquets for the SOHO/SME sector and maintaining a highly credible client database

Key responsibilities
  • Audit the existing client database and document a credible retail business database.
  • Review of the existing fibre ready buildings, mapping the clients against the list in a bid to build a focused target market for the SOHO/SME products.
  • By working with and through the retail contact centre, manage a portfolio of assigned customers and ensuring maximum client base is migrated to the prepaid platform.
  • Establishing new leads through engaging with various stake holders during seminars, workshops, and any other such activities that you will participate in.
  • Effectively interact with other departments, including the other sales team members, when handling new orders, keeping complete track of WIP.
  • Championing all SME/SOHO organized marketing activities & gathering and auctioning all relevant contacts/materials
  • Producing weekly, monthly and quarterly status reports on the portfolio financial performance
  • In liaison with Head of Retail Business, provide a clear plan of action for the quarter, bi-annual, & annual that forms the basis for your Quarterly, Bi-annual, &Annual KPI’s.
  • Liaise closely with Marketing, Business Development, planning, Sales, Sales admin team and departmental team members to achieve results
  • Communicate with clients to provide accurate and timely information
  • May be required to work outside office at exhibitions, seminars, and or outside the country
  • May be required to attend sales and marketing functions off office working hours until late in the night or spend outside town and or country of residence
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Sales & Marketing or related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years in the telecommunication sector is highly desirable
  • At least 3 years’ experience in direct sales.

  • Excellent relation and personal interaction attitude
  • Requires excellent analytical, problem solving, skills
  • Must have excellent communication and presentation skills
  • A high degree of independent decision making and autonomous function.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
