is one of the leading manufacturers and suppliers of Infrastructure piping
systems in Tanzania specializing in manufacturing and supply of uPVC and HDPE
pipes and its accessories.
They are
looking to for a qualified and competent individual to fill in the position of
Chief Accountant
Chief
Accountant Job Vacancy Key Responsibilities:
Reporting
to the Financial Controller the purpose of this role is:
- Manage a team in the accounts & Finance
department and offer SAP training on a need basis
- Ensure accurate daily posting of accounting
entries in the SAP system i.e Journals, customers & vendors’ invoices,
assets acquisition & disposal, receipts and payments etc
- Daily variance analysis of products weights
between the standard weight and actual weight and ensure accurate daily
posting in SAP
- Monthly closing of SAP FICO i.e Running of
assets depreciation, Recurring entries, foreign currency valuation, Bank
reconciliations and CO closing procedures
- Monthly inventory reconciliation between the
system and physical
- Regular analysis of the G.L to ensure accuracy and
timely correction of errors and proper adjustment
- Monthly Activity prices updating (Plan the
Activity Prices, Overhead Percentage Rates Modification & Quantity
Based overhead Rates)
- Monitoring spares consumption and ensuring the
same is updated in the system and within budget.
- Co-ordinate all the statutory audits March and
December
- Year end closing & Opening of new year
(Document numbers, Assets and Co prices & numbers)
- Coordinate with other module users and liaising
with the offshore support team on need basis and developments
- Bear responsibility for the preparation of
Monthly management accounts and yearly budgets in line with the company’s
standard format.
- Any other additional duties as may be assigned
from time to time.
Key
Requirements for Chief Accountant Job Vacancy
- Excellent numeric and literacy skills.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and IT skills to cope with
intense usage of numerous manufacturer systems.
- Commercially aware.
- 2-3 years Experience working with SAP FICO module,
knowledge in MM modules & PP modules will be an added advantage.
- Ability to complete complex reconciliations over
high volumes of data.
- Ability to work accurately and effectively with
multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast paced environment.
- Ability to detect, research and report data
inconsistencies and out of balance situations.
- A degree in Finance or accounting and qualified
Accountant CPA (K)
