FHI is seeking qualified candidate for the below position:
Position: Chief of Party

Position Summary:
The Chief of Party will be responsible for providing overall Technical and
programmatic leadership to an anticipated cross-sectoral project that will
strengthen the ability of the Kenyan youth to contribute to the country’s
social, political and economic development.
The project will strengthen the youth participation and representation,
youth livelihoods and economic opportunities, and access to youth friendly
services.
The chief of Party will be responsible for the technical
quality of program approaches, coordinating partner roles and setting
performance expectations, and ensuring program deliverables and milestones are
met.
This position requires a strong cross-disciplinary
understanding of market systems and holistic youth development approaches, and
the ability to work effectively with a diverse set of actors.
Requirements
- A Masters degree in Business Administration, International Development, Economics, Agriculture, or related field. Or a Bachelors and equivalent experience.
- Proven success managing complex development programs that include Multi-Disciplinary programming, preferably in the East African Context, and on USAID funded projects of similar size.
- Minimum of 10 yrs relevant professional experience.
- Proven abilities to set priorities, to Multi-task, and to work collaboratively across technical disciplines.
- A strong track record in managing youth livelihoods or market development projects (both rural and urban)
- Understanding of Key economic sectors for youth employment in Kenya e.g. (Agri-business, retail, construction) strongly preferred.
- Outstanding professional reputations and have strong demonstrated interpersonal, written and oral presentation skills
- Well developed written and Oral communication skills in English required, Kiswahili preferred.
- Knowledge of and experience with the design, management and implementation of workforce development programme.
- Experience developing successful private sector partnerships in the context of market development, youth livelihoods or market systems programs
- Experience collaborating with government ministries and officials, NGOs and Donors, and community based institutions, preferably in Kenya.
- Ability to organise systems to monitor results
- Demonstrated ability to lead a diverse team on activities of similar scale (financially, staff, and activities).
- Ability to work well with others and to develop and maintain compatibility among project staff, sub-contractors, consultants, and recipients of assistance.
