Technical Advisor
(Workforce Development and Livelihoods)
Location: Nairobi, Kenya

Position Summary: The Technical Advisor - Workforce Development
and livelihoods will work collaboratively with the key stakeholders to design
and implement workforce development and demand- driven livelihood interventions
for youth and their households.
This position requires comprehensive understanding of and experience
in the areas of market systems development, livelihoods and skills development,
with strong capacity building skills.
Minimum Requirements
- A masters degree in Business Administration, International Development, Economics, Agriculture, or related field. Or a Bachelors and equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 6 yrs experience in a leadership position responsible for developing marketing systems or livelihoods programming, preference given to a candidate who has demonstrated experience in economic sectors important for youth development in Kenya (e.g. Agribusiness, retail, construction, etc)
- Experience in Projects promoting Agriculture and livelihood interventions, preferably in Kenya.
- Familiarity and understanding of USAID policies and procedures (highly preferred), or those of other Donors, donor funded projects, community –based projects, or corporate social responsibility projects.
- Proven abilities to set priorities, to multi task, and to work collaboratively across technical disciplines.
- Possess outstanding professional reputation and have strong demonstrated interpersonal, written and oral presentation skills.
- Well –developed written and Oral communication skills in English required, Kiswahili preferred
- Experience and demonstrated Knowledge of workforce development and livelihoods best practises.
- Knowledge of and experience with the design, management and implementation of workforce development programme.
- Ability to organise systems to monitor results.
