The company believes in creating sustained economic development and uses a triple bottom line approach to measure success: creating financial value, improving social conditions and implementing activities in a way that supports, not exploits, the environment.

Job Summary: The Field and Supply Chain Manager will take an active role in managing the company's​ field and supply chain throughout East Africa. 

The position would be suitable for someone with experience managing field operations in agriculture and/or the supply chain for agricultural produce, working directly with community members and logistics.

 

Key Responsibilities
 

​1. Manage field based staff working with community members and buying produce
    
​2. ​Sourcing honey and other agricultural produce

• Manage direct buying activities across East Africa,
• Locate suppliers,
• Negotiate prices, and
• Coordinate activities.

​3. ​Plan and develop our overall strategy for our field based activities and to build up our supply chain across East Africa.

​4. ​Manage logistics

• Ensure our logistics costs are minimised

​5.​ Various other ad hoc administrative duties

The Field and Supply Chain Manager will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer in Kenya.

Qualifications and Skills

• 3-5 years’ experience in a similar positio​n
• Degree in agriculture, logistics, supply chain or a relevant field​
• Experience managing agriculture project​s​
• Experience managing field logistics
• The ability to work in a team as well as individually
• Sound decision making
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Good attention to detail
• Good negotiation skills
• Ability to work well with farmers
• The ability to work under pressure and to beat deadlines
• Good administrative and computer skills.
