Purpose of Job: Effective management and quality inspection, control and assurance of all processes and systems of cane and sugar processing operations to achieve target efficiencies and standards in quality and quantity.

Purpose of Job: Effective management and quality inspection, control and assurance of all processes and systems of cane and sugar processing operations to achieve target efficiencies and standards in quality and quantity.
Key Result Areas / Major Activities
- Effective administration of factory control laboratory.
- Effective technical support of sugar processing operations to achieve target recoveries through quality management
- Taking of process house daily stocks & accurate preparation of daily manufacturing reports & communication/ feedback to all concerned promptly.
- Monitoring of all the sugar and water lab sampling and analysis.
- Monitoring of all Special Analysis.
- Identification and Supervision of all Sampling points.
- Monitoring of all chemical dosing as per procedure and set targets
- Maintaining of Chemicals stock records such Lime, sulphur, flocculant, Biocides& other chemicals used in Process, ETP & WTP and feedback of performance to technical team
- Accurate and prompt preparation of weekly, monthly, quarterly & yearly technical reports.
- Accurate reconciliation of cane , sugar and molasses records with weighbridge and warehouse incharge
- Monitoring and analysis of all sources of sugar loss and feedback to technical team for corrective action and further review/verification by the Lab Incharge
- Ensuring sampling and analysis of raw material (cane) and providing feedback to technical team for decision making.
- Effective testing of process inputs (chemicals and packaging materials) to ensure quality is maintained.
- Development of standard operating procedures and targets for the laboratory and ensure implementation and achievement of targets
- Conduct training and development of the laboratory staff
- Ensure discipline and teamwork is maintained in the laboratory
- Arrangement of external lab analysis of sugar, water and by products.
- Ensure implementation of management systems procedures and policies (SAP, QMS, EMS) etc
- Effective management of all water resources as per industry and national standard.
- Expenditure control within set budget limits.
- New products testing.
- Ensure maintenance and compliance to the standardization and diamond mark scheme of supervision.
Other Responsibilities
- Liaison on all quality and environmental matters.
- Compliance with all product and related statutes in sugar processing.
- Regular review and setting and reviewing performance benchmarks for all sections against historic data in context of continuous improvement.
- Manpower, equipment and consumables planning.
- Effective management and Leadership.
- Assist the Chief Chemist on all processing matters.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience
- Bsc Analytical Chemistry / Industrial Chemistry / Food Technology
- Certificate in sugar technology and quality management system
- 5 years of experience in the sugar industry

- Display professional demeanor with qualities such as strong work ethics and trustworthiness
- Ability to work under pressure, work long hours and meet stipulated deadlines
- Strong Managerial and organizational skills.
- Good interpersonal and analytical skills.
